Architectural History and Theory
A chronological survey of the developments of Ancient architecture to Western architecture from the beginning of time to the period of Enlightenment, with consideration of the intellectual, aesthetic, technological, political and economic factors which have influenced the design of buildings. These issues are explored with reference to major contemporary examples and the work and philosophy of significant exponents. Lectures will provide detailed accounts of the principal developments in the early world from the ancient to revolutionary period to the present day. Buildings will be explored with reference to major contemporary examples and the work and philosophy of significant exponents. Students will undertake a major research of a significant building, complete with investigation of the major influences that led to its development and in turn its influence in other architectural aspects.

I enjoy learning every lesson. Every lesson and projects helped me learn a lot of knowledge. Although this semester I took the online class, but it will not affect I concentrate on class. I can still learn a lot of knowledge. My tutor gave me a lot of help and advice in my project. I recognize many historical building by listening all lecture classes and doing projects.
